Listening First: Health Talks on the Veranda
Under a shared roof, neighbours asked the questions they rarely get to ask - and got answers in their own language.
The most useful part of outreach is often not the device in the clinician's hand but the ten minutes before it. We sit, we ask, we listen.
On this veranda, the conversation was about salt, sugar and sleep - three things that shape blood pressure more than most people realise. No slides, no jargon. Just examples from the market and the kitchen.
Attendance was high because the invitation came from the compound head, not a poster. That matters.
